Role Summary
We are looking for a highly capable GitHub Administrator to own and manage the
enterprise-wide GitHub ecosystem end-to-end. The role will be responsible for
administration, governance, onboarding, operational support, security compliance, and
platform optimization for the organization’s GitHub environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and administer the enterprise GitHub environment including organizations,
repositories, teams, policies, and enterprise settings.
Perform onboarding of new applications, repositories, business units, and development
teams onto GitHub.
Configure repository structures, branching strategies, access controls, and permission
models.
Manage user lifecycle activities including onboarding, role mapping, access
provisioning, and de-provisioning.
Act as L2/L3 support for GitHub operational issues, incidents, and troubleshooting.
Monitor platform health, storage utilization, licenses, usage trends, and performance
metrics.
Implement and enforce enterprise GitHub governance standards.
Manage branch protection rules, CODEOWNERS, secrets management, and repository
policies.
Support integrations between GitHub and enterprise tools such as Jenkins, GitHub
Workflows, Kubernetes, Jira, and cloud platforms.
Manage GitHub Actions runners and workflows.
Develop automation scripts and reusable workflows for operational efficiency.
Publish operational dashboards and governance reports.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise Cloud
Deep understanding of Git version control, repository management, branching
strategies, and pull request workflows
Experience with GitHub Actions and self-hosted runners
Knowledge of DevSecOps and secure SDLC practices
Experience with SSO/SAML/Azure AD integrations
Understanding and hands-on experience of API integrations and webhook
configurations
Good to Have
Experience with hybrid GitHub architecture (GHES + GitHub Cloud)
Exposure to migration programs from GitLab/Bitbucket/Azure DevOps to GitHub
Knowledge of compliance frameworks and audit controls
Experience in BFSI or Life Insurance domain
GitHub certifications preferred
Familiarity with scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Terraform

Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related
